Welcome

Hi, I'm Sarah and I am so excited to be co-leading the first book club sessions with (Rev.) Jason and really looking forward to meeting you all in October. Please do sign up (using the membership link) and remember to contact (Rev.) Jason who will organise a time for you to pick up Chris Cipollone's book! As far as introductions go, I have always had a passion for reading since I can remember and my mum always dreaded me being near the second-hand bookshop with my pocket money as I would never want to leave and be in there for hours. I went to university as a mature student to (sociology/public service) and though at times my Christian walk has been challenging (and I have fallen down some metaphorical potholes) I know Jesus has never left me. He really is 'the good shepherd.' As I've grown older (quite a bit actually!) being a Granny four times over, from time-to-time I try to send my grandchildren books to explain issues, encourage, nurture and have fun. Thus far, I have generally read explanatory books on the old and new testament alongside some classic Christian real life testimonies. I find these really powerful because although these individual's may have had a powerful calling (in very particular ways) they speak to the power of the Holy Spirit working in the here and now both comforting, challenging, transforming and renewing people every day. God's word is, and will always be 'alive and active.' As I am writing, I really hope you give the book club a try, so if you feel an inner prompting to come and join us - don't ignore it - see you on the 17th!
